Jesus foretold corruption of scriptures (rather than apostasy of Christendom)
by iconoclastic injws apply the fulfillment of what jesus fold in mathew 13:24-30 in what they call the great apostasy of christendom.
here jesus was speaking in parable, hence application should be made in its essence.
jesus sowed the seed (which means he preached the truth), later when it was compiled, selfish writers sowed weeds (interpolated their own ideas), and it became one book where on cannot distinguish what is good seed and weed.

Look up Arne Jordly's Koine Greek to English translations with commentaries. I don't agree with everything 100% but it's worthwhile reading and very educational. He typically compares NWT NIV KJ to his own as well as the original Koine Greek works used. I think he relied on Strong's works to a degree to put all this together, quite impressive !

His publications are a good starting point for me to further my Bible knowledge. I have his complete collection on order from the printers in NJ and he is pleasant to deal with. Has spent 25 years on this project so far and is not a sect or anything, his intentions are simply to help people get a better grasp of scripture without any organizational slant or agenda.

Reflecting on my Disfellowshipping
by kairos intoday is the day.. i was baptized as one of jehovah's witnesses on march 25th 1989.disfellowshipped for admitted apostasy today, september 10th 2015.. what an amazing story we all share.
how did we get involved with this group and think this was the best way of life?.
i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

Here's my leaving the Org theme song. I found out about Russell, Rutherford, Knorr, Crazy Freddie, the way they treated Bethelites, GB1, GB2 and the current state of affairs in NY and Warwick. Thanks Uncle Raymond love you brother :

For Those of You Who Still Serve... How Do You Do It?
by Kingdom Evader innew here... been lurking for some time now.... i still serve... but with each passing day, it gets harder and harder.
i'm slowly... slowly working on my wife (i call her mrs. hardcore) and even my m-i-l (who taught my wife how to be hardcore).
making some amazing progress... they are still hardcore... but unrecognizable from a couple years ago!.

Friends of All Sorts....
by wisdomfrombelow inwhen i hear people say that you can't keep your jw friends when you leave i can understand why they say that.
however, i can also see how that is a generalization.
i remember my life growing up as a jw and having good friends who were jewish and catholic and protestant and buddhist and hindu and muslim and atheists.

Good post, I'm guilty of putting too much effort in being friends with JW's when in just because they were in and in good standing. Pretty superficial of me and I suffered because. Good thing I kept in touch with my childhood friends that I'm getting closer to again now that I'm out. -

Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

Babygirl Bro. Jeramy is long gone, he hasn't posted in months..
Wanted to add what I regret is in investing in conditional JW friendships, I should of known better.
Big waste of time and was unnecessary drama and stress, completely futile.

Totally agree Stirred :
It's a journey. Keep all the loving, supportive, ethical principles and question /distance yourself from those that cause harm, destruction, pain. There are other ways to be "in service". My family is more involved with charities now and meeting many wonderful people.....
Tried to go back over the summer, ended up making me ill at the RC assembly then a last ditch effort at supper with an elder friend couple and decided it was over. Went to an SDA church the week after and saw the problems there as well.
Then all the recent things like the March 15 WT, the RC, reading COC ISOCF and COaC plus reading up on Arne Jordly site and ordering his commentaries I no longer have any use for the GB. I guess I had to wean off gradually. Last time I spoke with Bro.Jeramy he wasthinking of DA'ing and going to an orthodox church with some friends.

Are you angry for having been a JW?
by Half banana ini remember seeing the ex-jws parading around outside the assembly like lepers holding placards of hate.
we were the righteous and enlightened ones... and they were lost in outer darkness.
just dont look at them was the standard response to their unwelcome presence..

I haven't read all the previous posts but my take is that the org is a 10-15 year deal, did my time, gained some Bible knowledge and benefited from the high moral standards ( values ) which I was always naturally drawn to anyways. Helped me to break from addictions and questionable business practices thereby avoiding legal troubles. But the constant control and intrusion into my privacy led me to burn out. Back then I went along and acted as a yes man extrovert for a while to gain a certain measure of freedom but went against my nature and wore me down to a shadow of how I really was / am. Happy to now be completely out and faded. If anything I'm angry at myself for being such a pushover at times and if it were to do over again would of stood up for myself more.
If you don't run your own life somebody else will !

I know of a couple that have been married for over 15+ years guy was in his mid twenties she was in her late forties at best back then maybe even fifty. Pretty decent shape for her age but man did she not age well. Two things come to mind, if she would of been level headed and honest with him she should of just told the guy thanks for the compliment but look for someone your age right ? He himself being a handsome young man, bethel material at the time he had the cream of the crop to choose from. I sure wouldn't want to be in his shoes today. Lots of young buck / older cougar couples up this way, wonder what it is. You do see more young guy / older woman couples then the old guy with cute young thing deal, in the org that is. Strange place indeed, they were led to believe that the system would only last a few more years and then everyone would be young again.. I would never subject a woman to such an age difference, just not cool. +5 or -10 max in my case anything more no way no thanks. -

True believers never save their money
by stillin init's an article of faith.
either god is going to save them or he is not.
since one local elder proudly told me that he never saved a nickel until just before his retirement, i've given this subject some thought.. savers are worldly..

Stillin, yes you are right I have become sort of a gold bug and am now better than where I was before the loss. I must say I got out a month before the tech crash so that was a good move there. I sold Visa too quick though and watched it go up and up and up. So I kinda learnt going both ways. You're also right it can never be all green, I mentioned Jesse Livermore above, even he lost it all. Best is to be reasonable and avoid unhealthy greed.
BTW good post bro thanks.
